The Sauce Management Device — SMD — is EQT's new flash tool geared for the MQBe (VW MK8/Audi 8Y) platform. This is allowing us to add desired features like ECU based MPI integration to support higher power options like upgraded turbos and full E85. We are also working on adding new custom features like Flex Fuel, Custom Launch Control, Traction Control, and more.
Launch Support
The SMD is available exclusively for the MK8/8Y platforms. There is currently no timeline for support for any additional platforms.

Map Packs are bundled tune files included with every EQT staged tune purchase. Instead of buying one calibration, you get the full set of fuel and feature variations for your stage — and you can switch between them anytime, right from your phone or laptop.
Every Stage 1 and Stage 2 Map Pack includes:
- 3 octane variants — 91/92, 93/94, and E85
- Multiple burble configurations
- Low-torque files
- High-torque files
- LPFP support files (Mk8 GTI only)
Run pump gas during the week, switch to E85 for the weekend, all without buying a new variation of your tune. One purchase, every variation, full control.
If bought the EQT stage 1 map pack and are ready for more, you can upgrade to the Stage 2 map pack for $100
Every Stage 2 map pack purchase comes with the full Stage 1 Map Pack at no extra cost. Run Stage 2 when your hardware's ready, drop back to Stage 1 anytime you need to — same device, same flash, no re-purchase.
The SMD was launched with full support for the Mk8 GTI, Mk8 Golf R, and 8Y Audi S3, with active development already underway for additional platforms.
MQB is next in the rollout: Mk7/Mk7.5 GTI, GLI, and Golf R, 8V/8V.2 Audi A3/S3, and other EA888 Gen 3 vehicles in our wheelhouse.
Yes. We are constantly working on new features for the SMD platform, including Flex Fuel, Custom Launch Control, Custom Traction Control, No-Lift Shift, and more.
While we would love to have you try out our new ecosystem, EQT tunes for the Cobb platform aren’t going anywhere. We’ll continue offering new files, revisions, and updates for Accessport users, so you can keep flashing, logging, and dialing in your setup with the tools you already know. If you move to the EQT SMD later, great, but it’s optional. Your Cobb-backed build stays fully supported.
