Turbo Warranty Guide

In this guide, we will cover the basics of Equilibrium Tuning’s warranty exchange program for Equilibrium Tuning turbochargers. It’s important to note that while this guide serves to be as thorough as possible, there will always be outlier scenarios that will not be touched upon and will be handled on a case-by-case basis. The Warranty:
EQT (Equilibrium Tuning INC) warrants its turbochargers (herein product(s)) against defects in workmanship and materials for a period of 12 months from the date of receipt From EQT to vehicle owner. This warranty is void if the product is misused, altered, tampered with or is installed or used in a manner that is inconsistent with EQT's written recommendations, specifications and/or instructions, or fails to perform due to normal wear and tear. EQT does not warrant the suitability of the product for any particular application. Determining product application suitability is solely the customer's responsibility. EQT is not liable for special, indirect, incidental, consequential or other damages including, but not limited to, loss, damage, personal injury, or any other expense directly or indirectly arising from the use of or inability to use its products either separately or in combination with other products. ALL OTHER WARRANTIES EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, WHETHER ORAL, WRITTEN OR IN ANY OTHER FORM, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO A WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ARE EXPRESSLY EXCLUDED.

The sole and exclusive remedy under this warranty is limited, at the option of EQT, to replacement of the defective product. All allegedly defective EQT products must be returned to EQT, together with information describing the product's application and performance, unless otherwise authorized in writing by EQT.

The Process:
At the first sign of what you suspect could be a defective turbocharger, we ask that you take a log or two of the behavior, and begin basic troubleshooting steps. We encourage you to reach out to staff and volunteers as well as post your suspicions in our Equilibrium Tuning Facebook Group, or by emailing us via Note that the only OFFICIAL support channel is via e-mail, and an initiation of warranty claim will not be handled unless received as such. If basic troubleshooting steps do not resolve the symptoms, then the warranty process will be initiated.

Within the subject of the email, the customer will place their original order number, and purchase date and serial number of the turbocharger (ex: Subject: #9999, 19 November 2019, SN#10003010). This is to help facilitate research by staff more efficiently. In the body of the email please indicate you wish to begin turbocharger warranty claim, and be as thorough as possible with your findings of the supposed failed unit, who you worked with, and provide any photos as well as data-logs.

Once support staff receives the e-mail, they will review the contents and direct the email to our full-time staff for processing. The customer will be put in contact with the shop manager, who will then collect a refundable deposit of $1500. Once the shop manager receives the deposit from the customer, a replacement turbocharger will be sent to the customer. The customer must work diligently to remove the defective unit and replace with the new unit within a reasonable timeframe.

Customer must return the defective turbo to us with the packaging used to provide them with the new turbo. Inside the package there will be an RMA return label for shipping the defective unit back.

Once we receive the defective unit, we will perform preliminary inspection, and prepare the turbo for shipment back to the manufacturer for detailed analysis and repair/replacement. When the manufacturer receives the defective unit, they will perform inspection within 5-7 business days (holidays excluded). They will inform EQT staff of their findings, and whether the unit will be repaired under warranty, or if there is no coverage.

If the warranty is approved, the manufacturer informs us, and we will notify the customer that they will be refunded the deposit. If the warranty is denied for any reason, the customer will forfeit the deposit. In either scenario, the customer will retain the turbo that was sent for warranty replacement, and the warranty period will begin again from date customer received the replacement.

During each phase of this process, the customer will be notified in writing. If there are no updates, the customer should reasonably expect a follow up every two weeks. The whole process can take up to 45 days.
